216 Wrongful holding over of life interest etc
(1) This section applies if a person entitled to a life interest in property
holds over or continues in possession of the property, the interest in
the property, or the rents, profits or income of the property, after the
end of the life interest without the express consent of the person next
entitled to the property, or to the rents, profits or income of the
property, on the ending of the life interest.
(2) The holder of the life interest is liable in damages, to account for the
rents, profits or income of the property, or both, to the person entitled
to the property, or to the rents, profits or income, after the end of the
life interest.
