210 Interpretation of conveyance etc of property to 2 or more
people together
(1) A disposition of the beneficial interest in property (whether or not
with the legal estate) to or for 2 or more people together beneficially
is taken to be made to or for them as tenants in common, and not as
joint tenants.
(2) However, this section does not apply—
(a) to people who, under the instrument, are executors,
administrators, trustees or mortgagees; or
(b) if the instrument expressly provides that they are to take as joint
tenants.
(3) This section applies to the interpretation of an instrument
commencing after 8 May 1958.
