Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This instrument abolishes (repeals) an old aviation safety rule called Civil Aviation Order 103.18.

What it does:

Completely removes Civil Aviation Order 103.18 from the books
The repeal takes effect automatically the day after this instrument is officially registered

Why it matters: This is a regulatory "housekeeping" measure by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). It cleans up the aviation rules by removing an outdated order that is no longer needed or has been replaced by newer regulations.

Who it affects: Primarily affects pilots, aircraft operators, and aviation businesses who previously had to comply with the requirements in the old Order 103.18. They no longer need to follow those specific rules.

Legal basis: Made by the Acting Director of Aviation Safety under the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988.
