Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This instrument is a formal cancellation (repeal) of an older aviation safety rule called Civil Aviation Order 100.66.

What it does:

Removes the old Civil Aviation Order 100.66 (and its 2007 instrument form) from the rulebooks, effective 27 June 2011.
The old rule governed who could issue maintenance releases (official paperwork saying an aircraft is safe to fly) and carry out maintenance on home-built aircraft (specifically experimental amateur-built or kit-built aircraft).

Why it matters: This is regulatory housekeeping. It cleans up outdated aviation safety legislation, likely because the rules were replaced by newer regulations or consolidated elsewhere. It does not introduce new requirements—it simply removes the old ones.
