Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This instrument (Civil Aviation AOD 2008/2) specifies eleven named substances as “testable drugs” for Part IV of the Civil Aviation Act 1988 (made under subsection 33(2)) and revokes Civil Aviation AOD 2008/1.

It applies to aviation personnel subject to the Act’s drug-testing regime: the listed substances determine what chemicals may be tested for. The Minister issues the specification; testing practice, thresholds and sanctions are handled under Part IV and related instruments, so compliance and operational costs fall to regulators and tested individuals.
