Offences relating to release of balloons (1) A person must not release, or cause or permit the release of, a balloon inflated with gas that causes it to rise in the air. (2) An adult commits an offence if a child in the adult’s care releases a balloon inflated with gas that causes it to rise in the air. (3) It is a defence to a charge under subregulation (2) to prove that the adult took steps that were reasonable in the circumstances to ensure that the child did not release the balloon.
