33 Offence of discharging liquid waste (a) the person deposits or causes waste water, liquid waste or hazardous liquid to be deposited onto public land or into a drain on public land; and

City of Darwin By-laws 2023 17 (b) the person has no authorisation for that conduct. Water leaking from faulty air conditioners or used cooking oil dumped in a drain. (3) It is a defence to a prosecution for an offence against clause (1) if the defendant took all reasonable steps and exercised due diligence to avoid committing the offence.
