122 Lost or damaged library materials (1) A library officer may, by written notice, require a person who borrows library material to pay: (a) a fee for failing to return the material; and (b) the cost of replacing or repairing the material if lost or damaged while on loan to the person.

City of Darwin By-laws 2023 64 (2) Library material that is stolen, lost or damaged remains the property of the City, even if replaced or paid for. (3) A person who receives a written notice under clause (1) must pay the fee or cost within 15 days of receipt of the notice. clause (3).
