If the chief executive determines that an appropriate safe job is not available, and when the employee has completed 12 months of continuous service, the employee is entitled to take paid absence for ‘no safe job’ purposes for the stated period at a rate of payment that is the same rate as would be paid if the employee was granted personal leave. This period of paid absence counts as service for all purposes.
