29A Territory savings and transition—vehicle licences
(1) The owner of a vehicle that was registered under the Motor Traffic Ordinance 1978 immediately before 1 July 1992, is taken to have been granted a licence for the vehicle under this Act for the period ending when the registration period would have ended if the Ordinance had not been repealed. (2) If a person applied for registration, or renewal of registration of a vehicle under the Ordinance before 1 July 1992 and the application had not been granted or refused before that date, the Minister may determine the application as if the Ordinance had not been repealed. (3) If: (a) the registration period referred to in subsection (1) expires before 1 October 1992; and (b) the owner applies for a licence under this Act before that date; the vehicle is taken to be licensed under this Act until the licence is granted or the application is refused.
