25 Territory transition

If a medical practitioner who is required to be registered under this Act: (a) was registered or licensed to practise as a medical practitioner under a law of a State or Territory; and (b) practised medicine in the Territory immediately before 1 July 1992; and (c) applies for registration under section 11 of this Act within two months of the commencement of the Territories Law Reform Act 1992; the medical practitioner is taken to be registered under this Act until registration is granted to the medical practitioner or the application is refused.

Add:

(4) Subsections (1) to (3) do not apply in relation to a mining authorisation if: (a) the holder of the authorisation is the holder because of a lease or other agreement to which the holder and the Commonwealth are parties; and (b) under the terms of the lease or agreement, the holder is required to pay to the Commonwealth a conservation levy.

(9) If a person who is required to register a vessel under these Regulations: (a) used the vessel in the Territory immediately before 1 July 1992; and (b) applies for registration of the vessel under these Regulations within two months of the commencement of the Territories Law Reform Act 1992; the person is taken to be registered under these Regulations until the registration is granted or refused. (10) The application fees specified in subregulation (3) are not required to be paid if a person applies for registration of a vessel in accordance with subregulation (9).
