581 CAYPINS procedure
(1) The procedure set out in Schedule 3 may be used instead of commencing a proceeding against a child for an offence for which an infringement notice within the meaning of Schedule 3 could be issued.

(2) If a child may be prosecuted for an offence in respect of which an infringement notice may be issued, a reference in an Act to enforcement under the **Fines Reform Act 2014** includes a reference to enforcement under Schedule 3 to the **Children, Youth and Families Act 2005**.
