375Instalment orders

375 Instalment orders (1) In sections 375 to 379— ***child*** includes a person on whom the Court has imposed a fine but who is of or above the age of 19 years at the time of an application under section 377; ***fine*** means the sum of money payable by a child under an order of the Court made in respect of an offence and includes costs but does not include a sum of money payable by way of restitution or compensation; ***instalment order*** means an order made under subsection (2) that a fine be paid by 2 or more instalments and, if such an order has been varied, means the order as so varied. (2) If the Court determines to impose a fine on a child, the Court— (a) must, if the child so requests, order that the fine be paid by instalments; or (b) in any other case, may order that the fine be paid by instalments, if the Court deems it appropriate to do so.
