33 Response by community-based child and family service to referral S. 33(1) amended by No. 6/2024 s. 75(1). (1) If a matter is referred to a community-based child and family service under section 31, the service provider may— S. 33(1)(a) amended by No. 48/2006 s. 7(1). (a) provide advice to the person who made the referral; (b) provide advice and assistance to the child or the family of the child; S. 33(1)(c) amended by No. 48/2006 s. 7(2). (c) refer the matter to another community-based child and family service or to a service agency to provide advice, services and support to the child or the family of the child. S. 33(2) amended by No. 6/2024 s. 75(2). (2) If a referral is made to a community-based child and family service under section 31 and the service provider considers that the child may be in need of protection, the service provider must report the matter to the Secretary. S. 33(3) amended by No. 6/2024 s. 75(3). (3) If a referral is made to a community-based child and family service under section 32, the service provider may— (a) seek advice from the Secretary in relation to the referral; (b) provide advice to the person who made the referral; (c) provide advice and assistance to the mother of the unborn child; S. 33(3)(d) amended by No. 48/2006 s. 7(3). (d) refer the matter to another community-based child and family service or to a service agency to provide advice, services and support to the mother of the unborn child.
