### 102 False or misleading statement > When answering a question or providing information under an order made under this Act, when required to do so by the Secretary under the authority of an order made under this Act or otherwise under this Act, a person must not make a statement or provide information that the person knows or has reasonable grounds for believing is false or misleading in a material particular except where the person also states to the questioner or the person to whom the information is provided that the person knows or believes the answer or information to be false or misleading. > > Penalty: Fine not exceeding 50 penalty units or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years, or both.
