#### 32 Initial identification—Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders 32 Initial identification—Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders > If the Secretary has reason to believe that a child or young person who is the subject of a report may be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, the Secretary is to make such inquiries as are reasonable in the circumstances to determine whether the child or young person is in fact an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
