807 Approval of research projects—generally (1) The director-general may approve a research project. (2) However, the director-general may approve a research project only if— (a) the director-general is satisfied the project complies with or is likely to comply with the research standards; and (b) if the project involves a child or young person taking part in the project—the director-general has approved the project under section 809. (3) In deciding whether to approve a research project, the director-general may have regard to a recommendation made by an ethics committee approved by the Minister under section 810.
