403 When are children and young people in need of emergency care and protection? For the care and protection chapters, a child or young person is in need of emergency care and protection if the child or young (a) is in immediate need of care and protection; or (b) is likely to be in immediate need of care and protection if emergency action is not taken. Note In need of care and protection is defined in s 345.
