Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These regulations cancel (repeal) outdated rules about overseas child support obligations.

What it does:

Formally deletes the Child Support (Assessment) (Overseas-related Maintenance Obligations) Regulations 2000 from Australian law
Takes effect automatically when Part 1 of Schedule 2 of the Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs Legislation Amendment (Child Support Reform Consolidation and Other Measures) Act 2007 begins operating

Why it matters: This is a "housekeeping" measure. When the government introduced new child support reforms in 2007, the old 2000 regulations became obsolete. This instrument simply cleans up the statute books by removing the superseded rules.
