sec.12U Notice of treatment on supply of trade species animal

This section applies to a person who supplies a trade species animal to another person if— a veterinary chemical product or compounded veterinary chemical product was used to treat the animal; and a withholding period applies to the use of the product and the period has not elapsed. The person must give the other person written notice of the treatment including— the withholding period for use of the product or the date the withholding period elapses; and the name of— the product used; or if the product does not have a name—the product’s active constituent; and details to identify the particular animal; and the date of the treatment; and other information prescribed under a regulation. Maximum penalty for subsection (2) —300 penalty units. Subsection (4) applies to— a person mentioned in subsection (1) ; and a person who receives written notice under subsection (2) . Each person mentioned in subsection (3) must keep a copy of the notice for— the period prescribed under a regulation; or if no period is prescribed—2 years.
