#### 18A Renewal of authority 18A Renewal of authority > > (1) An authority may be renewed on application to the Secretary made before or within 3 months after the expiry of the authority. > > > (2) Subject to this section, this Act applies to an application for the renewal of an authority in the same way as it applies to an application for an authority. > > > (3) The Secretary may refuse an application to renew an authority if the Secretary is satisfied of either or both of the following— > > > > > (a) that the applicant has not complied with the requirements of this Act or the regulations, > > > > > (b) that the applicant has failed to comply with a condition of the authority that is to be renewed. > > > (4) If an application to renew an authority is made within the period of 3 months after the expiry of the authority, the original authority is taken to have remained in force, and to remain in force, until the determination of that application. > > **s 18A:** Ins 2018 No 64, Sch 1\[16\].
