Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This statute governs the ANU Chancellor: a largely ceremonial office with a three‑year term and possible reappointment only while enjoying the University Council’s confidence. The Council may remove a Chancellor by a two‑thirds resolution, adopt procedures for confidence reviews and removal, and the Chancellor may resign by written notice delivered via the Vice‑Chancellor.

It requires the Chancellor to preside at formal university occasions and replaces the former 2005 Chancellorship Statute.
