#### 132 Powers of authorised officers 132 Powers of authorised officers > > (1) An authorised officer may, on any premises lawfully entered, do anything that, in the opinion of the officer, is necessary to be done for the purposes of this Division, including (but not limited to) the following— > > > > > (a) examine and inspect any part of the premises or any article or thing on the premises, > > > > > (b) take and remove samples, > > > > > (c) make such examinations, inquiries and tests as the officer considers necessary, > > > > > (d) take such photographs, films, audio, video and other recordings as the authorised officer considers necessary, > > > > > (e) require records to be produced for inspection, > > > > > (f) examine and inspect any records, > > > > > (g) copy any records, > > > > > (h) seize anything that the officer has reasonable grounds for believing is connected with an offence under this Act or the regulations or a contravention of a civil penalty provision, > > > > > (i) require a person to take reasonable steps to produce a document, > > > > > (j) do any other thing the officer is empowered to do under this Division. > > > (2) An authorised officer may ask any person whom the authorised officer suspects on reasonable grounds to have knowledge of any matter in respect of which information is reasonably required for the purposes of the exercise of the authorised officer’s functions under this Act to answer questions in relation to that matter to the best of the person’s knowledge, information and belief. > > > (3) An authorised officer may give directions reasonably required in connection with the exercise of a power conferred by this section or otherwise in connection with the administration, operation or enforcement of this Act. > > > (4) Without limiting subsection (3), an authorised officer may, by order in writing, direct the owner or occupier of premises to provide such reasonable assistance or facilities to the authorised officer as may be requested by the authorised officer to exercise the authorised officer’s functions. > > > (5) If the authorised officer takes any document or thing under this section, he or she must— > > > > > (a) give notice of the taking of the document or thing to the person apparently in charge of it or to a manager of the premises, and > > > > > (b) return the document or thing to that person or the premises within 7 days after taking it. > > > (6) (Repealed) > > **s 132:** Am 2022 No 59, Sch 2.4.
