Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This regulation sets the specific amount of money that must be paid to the government when cattle are slaughtered in Australia.

Key details:

It establishes a levy (a mandatory fee) of two shillings for each head of cattle slaughtered.
This amount applies to abattoirs, meat processors, or anyone slaughtering cattle under the Cattle Slaughter Levy Act 1960.

Who it affects: Cattle producers and meat processing businesses that slaughter cattle.

Why it matters: It puts a concrete price on the statutory charge, allowing the government to collect funds (likely for industry research, marketing, or disease control) every time an animal is processed.
