New South Wales act
This Act amends the Casino Control Act 1992 and the Smoke-free Environment Act 2000 to change where smoking bans apply at casinos. Mechanically, it carves out the Barangaroo gaming facility and private casino gaming areas approved by the Authority from the Smoke-free Act, updates licence wording, and removes the Smoke-free Act’s exempt-area provisions. It affects casino operators, patrons and the regulator: the Authority decides which private areas can be exempt, operators must secure approval to permit smoking, and enforcement obligations shift accordingly.
