#### 42C Interim approval of close associate 42C Interim approval of close associate > > (1) While the NICC is considering an application by a person for approval to become a close associate of a casino operator, the NICC may issue the person with an interim approval as a close associate for the following purposes— > > > > > (a) to enable the person to start employment with the casino operator, > > > > > (b) to enable commercial negotiations to start or continue. > > > (2) The NICC may, at any time and for any reason, revoke an interim approval. > > > (3) An interim approval— > > > > > (a) stays in force until a decision about the application for approval of a close associate has been finally decided, unless earlier revoked by the NICC under subsection (2), and > > > > > (b) is not to be taken as an indication the person will be given approval to become a close associate of the casino operator. > > **s 42C:** Ins 2022 No 36, Sch 1\[42\].
