I, bruce ROBERT gemmell, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer, a delegate of CASA, make this instrument under regulation 11.160 of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998 (CASR 1998).

Exemption — participation in land and hold short operations

1 Duration

This instrument:

(a) commences on the day after it is registered; and

(b) stops having effect at the end of November 2006.

2 Application

This instrument applies:

(a) to an ATS provider, within the meaning of regulation 172.015 of CASR 1998; and

(b) for land and hold short operations using Boeing 767-300 series aircraft operated by Qantas Airways Limited, Aviation Reference Number 216147, or Qantas Limited, Aviation Reference Number 503021.

3 Exemption

(1)An ATS provider is exempt from compliance with paragraph 172.065 (1) (a) of CASR 1998 to the extent mentioned in subsection (2).

(2)The exemption applies only to the standards set out in subsections 10.13.5.3 and 10.13.5.4 of the Manual of Standards Part 172.
