This instrument grants a limited exemption for Australian‑registered Cessna 525B private jets (MTOW >5,700 kg), releasing them from the usual flight data recorder requirement provided they carry an approved cockpit voice recorder. It affects owners/operators of these private aircraft and matters because it permits operation without full flight data recording while retaining cockpit audio for safety oversight.
