Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

A temporary CASA safety exemption lets GoJet Pty Ltd operate its Gates Learjet 35A (VH‑YPT, s/n 366) without the normally required flight data recorder for aircraft over 5,700 kg.

The jet must still carry a cockpit voice recorder, carry no passengers, and not be used for flight training; the exemption runs until February 2017. It permits limited legal operation despite lacking full flight‑data equipment, with restrictions to mitigate safety risk.
