Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does

This short instrument cancels a previous safety direction (CASA 130/05) that restricted or regulated parachute operations near Barwon Heads aerodrome in Victoria. Think of it as hitting the delete button on an old rule.

Who it affects

Skydivers and parachuting schools operating near Barwon Heads (southwest of Geelong)
Pilots flying in the airspace above and around the aerodrome
Air traffic services coordinating activity in that area

Why it matters

By revoking the 2005 instrument, CASA removes specific location-based restrictions that previously applied to parachute jumps at this site. Operators will no longer need to comply with the particular requirements set out in the old direction—though all other general aviation safety rules (like standard altitude clearances and NOTAM requirements) still apply.

When it took effect

The revocation kicked in the day after this instrument was officially registered (commencing 30 September 2009).
