Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This instrument lets Virgin Australia operate specific Boeing 737‑800s configured with 189 seats using fewer cabin attendants than the usual Civil Aviation Order requires—setting a minimum of one attendant per 50 seats (so four attendants on a 189‑seat layout). It applies only to Virgin on those aircraft for charter or regular public transport, and any changes to emergency procedures or exit/assist arrangements need CASA’s prior written approval, preserving regulatory control over safety.
