Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation cancels the special temporary working conditions for Australian Defence Force personnel that were established for Darwin in 1976.

What it does

Repeals (abolishes) the Defence Force (Darwin) (Temporary Conditions of Service) Regulations 1976
Removes any special or temporary service conditions that applied specifically to Defence members serving in Darwin
Returns conditions of service to the standard rules under the Defence Act and related legislation

Who it affects

Australian Defence Force members who were serving in Darwin under the temporary conditions set in 1976
Defence administrators managing pay, leave, or service conditions

Why it matters This is a "sunset" provision that tidies up emergency or temporary measures. Since the regulations were always intended to be temporary (as stated in the title), this instrument formally ends them when they are no longer needed.
