REGULATIONS UNDER THE POST AND TELEGRAPH ACT 1901-1971.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Post and Telegraph Act 1901-1971.

TELEPHONE (CHARGING ZONES AND CHARGING DISTRICTS) REGULATIONS

Citation.

These Regulations may be cited as the Telephone (Charging Zones and Charging Districts) Regulations.

Commncement.

These Regulations shall come into operation on the twenty-seventh day of March, 1972.

Repeal.

The Statutory Rules specified in the First Schedule to these Regulations are repealed.

Charging zones and charging districts.

For the purpose of calculating charges with respect to telephone services under the Telephone Regulations—

(a) exchanges and offices are grouped in charging zones, the names of which are specified in column 2 of the Second Schedule to these Regulations;

(b) the exchanges and offices specified in column 3 of that Schedule opposite to the name of a charging zone specified in column 2 of that Schedule are the exchanges and offices in that zone;

(c) the charging zones, if any, specified in column 4 of that Schedule opposite to the name of a charging zone specified in column 2 of that Schedule shall be deemed to be the charging zones adjoining that charging zone ;

(d) charging zones are grouped in charging districts, the names of which are specified in column 2 of the Third Schedule to these Regulations;

(e) the charging zones specified in column 3 of that Schedule opposite to the name of a charging district specified in column 2 of that Schedule are the charging zones in that district; and

(f) the charging districts, if any, specified in column 4 of that Schedule opposite to the name of a charging district specified in column 2 of that Schedule shall be deemed to be the charging districts adjoining that charging district.
