Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This short 1954 regulation simply cancels (repeals) the earlier Defence (Labour Corps) Regulations from 1942.

Who it affects: Primarily affects the Australian Army and any remaining administrative structures related to the wartime Labour Corps—a civilian workforce that supported military operations during World War II.

Why it matters: This is a "housekeeping" measure to clean up old laws. The 1942 regulations created rules for a civilian labour force used during WWII for tasks like construction and logistics. By 1954, these wartime rules were obsolete, so this instrument formally removes them from the statute books to avoid confusion with current defence personnel laws.
