Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does This regulation completely abolishes the National Security (Food Control) Regulations — a set of wartime rules created during World War II that controlled how food was produced, distributed, and sold in Australia.

Who it affects Anyone still bound by the old food control rules (businesses, farmers, food distributors) was immediately released from those obligations once this regulation took effect.

Why it matters Made in 1950, this was a post-war "cleanup" measure. It removed emergency powers that were created as temporary wartime measures but were no longer necessary once the war ended. Rather than creating new rules, this instrument simply deletes old ones.
