Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation repeals (cancels) the earlier National Security (Australian Advisory War Council) Regulations, effectively abolishing the Australian Advisory War Council.

What it does: Removes from the statute books the regulations that created an advisory body during World War II. This is post-war “housekeeping” to wind up temporary wartime arrangements.
Who it affected: At the time, it affected the members of the Australian Advisory War Council and government departments that liaised with it. Today, it has no practical effect as the regulations were historic wartime measures.
Why it matters: It formally ended the legal framework for a wartime advisory body after the end of World War II, reflecting the transition from war to peace footing.
