Plain English Summary

What this does

This regulation cancels (repeals) the National Security (Post Office Volunteer Corps) Regulations made in 1940. Essentially, it wipes the slate clean and removes all the rules that previously governed the Post Office Volunteer Corps.

Who it affects

Members of the Post Office Volunteer Corps (a civilian defence group during World War II made up of postal workers)
The Postmaster-General's Department (which ran the postal service)
Anyone subject to the 1940 rules

Why it matters

During WWII, the government created volunteer corps to help with civil defence and emergency communications. This 1941 regulation disbanded the legal framework for the Post Office Volunteer Corps, likely because the group was being reorganised, merged into other services, or no longer needed. It removed obligations such as training requirements, uniforms, or call-up powers that had been imposed on postal workers.
