Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation is a single-sentence "delete button" for earlier wartime rules. It cancels (repeals) the National Security (Local Security Officers) Regulations made in 1940, which had created a corps of local security officers during World War II—essentially officials responsible for civil defence, internal security, and community-level vigilance.

What it does:

Removes the entire 1940 regulatory framework from the statute book.
Does not introduce any replacement rules or new powers.
Leaves a blank space where the old rules used to be (presumably so the government could reorganise security under different legislation or administrative structures).

Who it affects: Anyone who was appointed as a Local Security Officer under the 1940 rules, and any members of the public who had obligations toward those officers. After this repeal, those specific roles and duties no longer exist under this particular law.
