55 Obtaining consent to assignment (a) a request for the landlord's consent to an assignment of the lease is to be made in writing; (b) the landlord must deal expeditiously with a request for consent to an assignment of the lease; (c) the landlord is taken to have consented to the request for consent to an assignment of the lease if: (i) the tenant has complied with the provisions of the lease mentioned in section 56(a) and, if applicable, section 57(c); and Business Tenancies (Fair Dealings) Act 2003 43 (ii) the landlord has not, within 42 days after the request was made, given notice in writing to the tenant either consenting or withholding consent.
