143 Savings and transitional regulations (1) The Regulations may contain provisions of a savings or transitional nature consequent on the enactment of this Act. (2) The Regulations may provide that a provision mentioned in subsection (1) takes effect from the date of assent to this Act or from a later date. Business Tenancies (Fair Dealings) Act 2003 82 (3) To the extent to which a provision mentioned in subsection (1) takes effect from a date that is earlier than the date on which notice of the making of the Regulations is published in the Gazette, the provision does not operate so as to: (a) affect, in a manner prejudicial to a person (other than the Territory or an authority of the Territory), the rights of that person existing before the date on which the notice is published; or (b) impose liabilities on a person (other than the Territory or an authority of the Territory) in respect of anything done or omitted to be done before the date on which the notice is published.
