49 Offence to contravene requirement (1) A person commits an offence if the person contravenes a requirement under section 48(1)(b) or (c). Maximum penalty: 100 penalty units. (2) An offence against subsection (1) is an offence of strict liability. Part 2 Administration Division 8 Authorised bushfire volunteers Bushfires Management Act 2016 20 (3) It is a defence to a prosecution for an offence against subsection (1) if the defendant has a reasonable excuse.
