29Meetings

29 Meetings (1) Subject to this section, the Council must meet as often as the chairperson considers necessary for the efficient conduct of its affairs. (2) Subject to this Act, the chairperson of the Council may determine the procedure for: (a) calling meetings of the Council; and (b) the conduct of the meetings. (3) A quorum at a meeting of the Council is 5 members. (4) The chairperson must preside at any meeting of the Council at which the chairperson is present and, if the chairperson is not present, the deputy chairperson must preside. (5) If neither the chairperson nor the deputy chairperson of the Council is present at a meeting, the members present must elect one of their number to preside at the meeting. (6) Questions arising at a meeting of the Council must be determined by a majority of the votes of the members present and voting. (7) The person presiding at a meeting of the Council has a deliberative vote and, in the event of an equality of votes, also has a casting vote. (8) The Council must keep minutes of all its meetings.
