55 Lapsing of building permit (1) A building permit lapses if the building work to which the permit applies has not commenced by the last day of the period within which the work must commence under regulation 53 (the ***commencement date***). (2) A building permit lapses if the building work to which the permit applies is not completed by the last day of the period within which the work must be completed under regulation 54 (the ***completion date***). (3) A building permit that has lapsed is no longer in force for the purposes of the Act and these Regulations.
