146 Residential care buildings—automatic fire suppression systems (1) This regulation applies to a Class 9a building that is a residential care building that was constructed, or for which a building permit was granted, before 1 August 1997. Reg. 146(2) amended by S.R. No. 102/2023 reg. 9. (2) A fire sprinkler system in accordance with the deemed-to-satisfy provisions contained in clause E1D4 of the BCA Volume One must be installed throughout a residential care building. (3) This regulation must be complied with by the owner of the building. (4) This regulation does not apply to a building that has an approved automatic fire suppression system installed throughout the building.
