#### 56 Defence to contravention 56 Defence to contravention > In proceedings in which a person is charged with an offence of failing to comply with a requirement made of the person by an authorised officer exercising a function conferred by this Part, it is a defence to the prosecution of the offence if the person charged proves that the person had a reasonable excuse for the failure concerned.
