33 Stages of building work—Act, s 43 (1) (a)
Note The Act, s 43 requires certain things to be done before building work
proceeds beyond a prescribed stage.
The stages of building work are—
(a) completion of excavation, placement of formwork and
placement of steel reinforcing for the footings before any
concrete for the footings is poured; and
(b) for a class 1, class 10a or class 10b building—
(i) completion of the structural framework before the
placement of any internal lining; and
(ii) completion of placement of formwork, and placement of
steel reinforcing, for any reinforced concrete member
before any concrete for the member is poured; and
(c) for a building other than a class 1, class 10a or class 10b
building—
(i) completion of any structural framework stated by the
certifier in the relevant building approval, before the
placement of any internal lining; and
Carrying out building work Division 3.3
(ii) completion of the placement of formwork and steel
reinforcing for any reinforced concrete member stated by
the certifier in the relevant building approval, before any
concrete for the member is poured; and
(d) completion of the building work approved in the relevant
building approval.
