11 General requirements for application for building
approvals—Act, s 26 (3)
(1) The following requirements are prescribed for an application for
building approval:
(a) the application must contain an estimate of the cost of the
proposed building work worked out in accordance with a
method determined by the construction occupations registrar;
(b) if the building work is proposed to be carried out at or near a
street or place that is open to or used by the public—the
application must contain details of the precautions proposed to
be taken to protect the safety of people using the street or place
while the building work is carried out;
(c) the application must state the area of the parcel of land;
(d) if a performance requirement of the building code is to be
complied with by use of a performance solution under the code,
the application must state—
(i) the performance requirement; and
(ii) the performance solution; and
(iii) each assessment method used to show that the alternative
solution complies with the performance requirement.
(2) A determination under subsection (1) (a) is a notifiable instrument.
