#### 57 Functions of an accreditation authority 57 Functions of an accreditation authority > > (1) For the purposes of this Act, the functions of an accreditation authority are as follows— > > > > > (a) to accredit persons to carry out regulated work in accordance with the accreditation authority’s approved accreditation scheme, > > > > > (b) with respect to the holders of accreditations for which the accreditation authority is the regulating accreditation authority, to do the following in accordance with the accreditation authority’s approved accreditation scheme— > > > > > > > (i) to ensure that those persons comply with the requirements of their accreditation, > > > > > > > (ii) to investigate possible failures by those persons to comply with those requirements, > > > > > > > (iii) to exercise disciplinary functions where a failure to comply is found, including, if necessary, by suspending or cancelling a person’s accreditation, > > > > > (c) any other function imposed on an accreditation authority by this or any other Act or prescribed by the regulations. > > > (2) Subject to the regulations and the conditions or limitations of its approval as an accreditation authority, the manner in which an accreditation authority exercises its functions is to be determined by the accreditation authority.
