### 298 Determination of cost of staged building work > > (1)  If – > > > > > > (a) a permit is granted in respect of a stage of work; and > > > > > > > (b) no building administration fee was payable in respect of a previous stage of the work – > > > > the estimated cost of the work to be used to determine the amount of the building administration fee payable in respect of the permit is to include the estimated, or actual, cost of that previous stage of the work. > > > (2)  For the purposes of [subsection (1)](#GS298@Gs1@EN) , any permit granted in respect of building work is taken to be granted in respect of a stage of building work if – > > > > > > (a) a building permit was, or ought to have been, granted in respect of previous building work performed on the same building or premises; and > > > > > > > (b) a certificate of completion has not been issued in respect of the previous building work at the time the permit is granted.
