275 Compliance with Act in certain circumstances
(1) [Section 275 Subsection (1) amended by No. 9 of 2023, s. 26, Applied:01 Oct 2024] A person who performs work in accordance with an emergency order is not required to obtain a building permit, or comply with this Act, unless the relevant permit authority or building surveyor otherwise directs.
(2) [Section 275 Subsection (2) amended by No. 9 of 2023, s. 26, Applied:01 Oct 2024] A person who performs work in accordance with a building order or demolition order must comply with this Act unless the relevant permit authority or building surveyor otherwise directs.
Penalty: In the case of –
(a) a natural person, a fine not exceeding 100 penalty units; or
(b) a body corporate, a fine not exceeding 500 penalty units.
(3) A person who performs work in accordance with a plumbing order must comply with this Act unless the permit authority otherwise directs.
Penalty: In the case of –
(a) a natural person, a fine not exceeding 100 penalty units; or
(b) a body corporate, a fine not exceeding 500 penalty units.
